Tim Realbuto: Alone (With Plenty of Help)
"Award-winning writer and performer Tim Realbuto (Ghostlight; The Emperor’s Club) returns to 54 Below in an all new show entitled Tim Realbuto: Alone (With Plenty of Help). In this deeply personal, poignant, and hilarious show Tim will tell the (mostly) true story of how he grew up in show business and went from former child actor to the adult writer of the popular new Broadway-Bound musical Ghostlight. Some of Tim’s famous Broadway friends will help him along the way playing different characters from his past, the voices in his head, and sometimes (when things get too hard), even playing Tim himself."
Tim’s co-stars for the evening include an array of Broadway's top names like Derek Klena (Wicked), Tony-winner Beth Leavel (The Drowsy Chaperone, 42nd Street), Jenna Leigh-Green (Wicked), Danielle Ferland (Into the Woods), Jason Gotay (Bring It On), Alli Mauzey (Wicked), Natascia Diaz (tick tick Boom) and Kimberly Faye Greenberg. Tickets are $25-$50. Visit 54Below.com.
Back at 54 Below by popular demand, Playbill.com favorites The Skivvies bring their signature "musically thrilling" undie-rock, comedy-pop duo that doesn't just strip down their musical arrangements, they literally strip down to their underwear to perform their distinctive mashups and eccentric originals for cello and ukulele, with touches of glockenspiel, melodica, and a surprising array of under-used instruments. Award-winning singer-actors Lauren Molina (Marry Me a Little, Sweeney Todd, Rock of Ages) and Nick Cearley (All Shook Up) became YouTube sensations as The Skivvies, with living room videos that displayed their powerful harmonies as well as their powerful abs.
The Skivvies will be joined at their June 20 performance by Broadway special guest stars who will strip down and rock out including Alice Ripley (Next to Normal), Greg Hildreth, Jenna Leigh Green (Wicked), Patrick Paige (Casa Valentina), Paige Davis, Justin Guarini, Jason Tam and Patti Murin.
