Westport artistic co-director Joanne Woodward will direct the Aug. 25 reading of the Clifford Odets work that is presented as part of the Connecticut playhouse's "Classical Series."

Carter (Wit), Bruce MacVittie (American Buffalo), John Mainieri ("The Sopranos"), Andrea Maulella (Tryst), Jake Robards (Our Town) and Andrew Weems (Inherit the Wind).
Press notes for Golden Boy state, "Joe Bonaparte (Campion) dreams of becoming a world-famous violinist. When he is coerced into prize fighting by the lovely Lorna (Tomei), he discovers that he can make easy money. As he wins match after match, he finds himself losing his musical aspirations and becoming consumed by fortune, fame and glorious violence."
Marisa Tomei has appeared on Broadway in Top Girls, Salome and Wait Until Dark. She won the Academy Award for her performance in "My Cousin Vinny" and was Oscar-nominated for her work in "In the Bedroom." Tomei is a member of the Naked Angels Theater Company.
