Part of the York's Musicals in Mufti series, the semi-staged concert production will run Oct. 12-14. Directed by David Glenn Armstrong with musical direction by John Bell, the cast will feature Dick Latessa, Cady Huffman, Megan Lawrence, Brad Oscar, Capathia Jenkins, Angie Schworer, Ryan Duncan, Stephen Bienskie and Jim Sorensen. Additional casting will be announced shortly. The Body Beautiful features a book by Joseph Stein and Will Glickman, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and music by Jerry Bock. The musical, according to press notes, concerns "a wealthy Dartmouth College graduate who wishes to be a prize-winning boxer and the girl he loves who disapproves of his ambitions. His fight manager must deal with uninspired fighters, two ex-wives and a new girlfriend."

The Body Beautiful originally opened at the Broadway Theatre Jan. 23, 1958. George Schaefer directed a cast that included Mindy Carson, Steve Forrest, Jack Warden, Barbara McNair, William Hickey and Brock Peters.

All four fall Mufti offerings boast a book by Stein. The series began with Zorba and will continue with Enter Laughing: The Musical (Sept. 28-30), The Body Beautiful (Oct. 12-14) and The Baker's Wife (Oct. 26-28).

Five performances of each show will be presented: Fridays at 8 PM, Saturdays at 2:30 and 8 PM and Sundays at 2:30 and 7:30 PM. Audience discussions follow the matinee performances.

The Mufti series is presented at the Theatre at Saint Peter's, which is located at 54th Street, east of Lexington Avenue. For more information or to purchase tickets, call (212) 935-5820 or visit www.yorktheatre.org.
