News Laura Bell Bundy Lands Role on TV's "How I Met Your Mother" Legally Blonde Tony nominee Laura Bell Bundy has landed a recurring role on the hit CBS situation comedy "How I Met Your Mother," according to Entertainment Weekly.

EW.com says that the singing actress will play Robin's latest co-host on Metro News One; Cobie Smolders plays the role of Robin. Smolders' previous co-host was played by Ben Koldyke, who dumped Robin in this year's season finale.

Bundy's character may also have a date with Ted, the role played by Josh Radner.

No official announcement about the casting has been made. "How I Met Your Mother" also stars stage and screen actor Neil Patrick Harris.

Laura Bell Bundy was Tony-nominated for originating the role of Elle Woods in the Broadway musical Legally Blonde. She made her Broadway debut in the 2002 original cast of Hairspray as Amber Von Tussle and is also known for her work in Wicked and Ruthless!; she earned Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk nominations for her work as Tina Denmark in the latter. On screen Bundy has been seen in "Dreamgirls," "Guiding Light," "Jumanji," "Life with Mikey," "Adventures of Huck Finn," "Home Improvement," "Strangers with Candy" and "Curtis Court." Bundy's solo country debut recording, "Longing for a Place Already Gone," is currently available.

Her newest recording is titled "Achin' and Shakin'."
