Actress-singer Lea DeLaria continues a standing Monday night date at Fez, in Manhattan, Oct. 30 and Nov. 27, singing with The Butch Band and Marianne.
The all-jazz show comes in between her rehearsals for The Rocky Horror Show, which begins performances Oct. 20 at Circle in the Square Theatre in Broadway. She played Fez Sept. 25.
DeLaria has been likened to a "pretty truck" with "the voice of Betty Hutton," by critic Clive Barnes, for her starring role in The Public Theater's On the Town, in Park and on Broadway.
She has also appeared in several cabaret shows at Joe's Pub and elsewhere, and her credits include The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told, Williamstown Theater's As You Like It, the national tour of Chicago and Li'l Abner for Encores!
Her book of comic observations, "Lea's Book of Rules for the World," arrived in bookstores last spring. Tickets to DeLaria at Fez are $25. Fez is underneath the Time Cafe at 380 Lafayette Street (at Great Jones), in New York City. For information, call (212) 533-7000.
