Based on the Texas high school that met community resistance when students attempted to stage the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Rent, the production is being developed by the New York Theatre Barn.

Conceived by Joe Barros, Laura Brandel, Sammy Buck, Karen Marshall, Reed Prescott and Sam Willmott, the Post states that the creators wrote the piece with Michele in mind. Speargrove will be presented April 5 at the Julia Miles Theatre.

Speargrove has a book by Sammy Buck (Like You Like It, Andy Warhol Was Right) and music and lyrics by Dan Acquisto, Barbara Anselmi, Sammy Buck, John Bronston, Michele Brourman, Sam Carner, Josh Cohen, Brian Feinstein, Derek Gregor, Brandon Gwinn, Will Larche, Sheilah Rae, Joshua Robinson and Charlie Sohne.

"Gleeks" should also stay tuned to Fox television. Michele revealed on her Twitter page that she recorded an episode of "The Simpsons" on Feb. 16. An air date has not been set.
