The concerts boast the talents of Tony winner Lea Salonga, Ramin Karimloo, Yu Shirota and Sierra Boggess, with direction by Daniel Kutner, music direction by Fred Lassen and orchestrations and arrangements by Jason Robert Brown. Performances are June 15-23 at Tokyo’s Aoyama Theatre and June 27-30 at Osaka’s Umeda Arts Theater Main Hall.
4 Stars, according to press notes, is a "uniquely staged theatrical concert featuring four world-class artists from the four corners of the globe. Lea Salonga is a Filipino native, Ramin Karimloo is an Iranian-born Canadian living in London, Yu Shirota originates from Japan and has both Spanish and Japanese heritage, while Sierra Boggess hails from Denver, Colorado."
The concerts feature tunes from Miss Saigon, Les Miserables and The Phantom of the Opera as well as songs from shows by Rodgers and Hammerstein, Kander and Ebb, Stephen Sondheim, Stephen Schwartz, Maury Yeston and Jason Robert Brown.
The production has scenic design by Yukio Horio, lighting design by Toshiyuki Kasahara, costume design by Nobuko Miyamoto and sound design by Koichi Yamamoto.
