Christopher McElroen directs the Chekhov work, which began performances Feb. 5 and runs through March 8 at the Harlem Stage Gatehouse Theatre. The cast comprises Roger Guenveur Smith (A Huey P. Newton Story) as Vershinin, Earle Hyman ("The Cosby Show") as Ferapont, Carmen de Lavallade as Anfisa, Sabrina LeBeauf ("The Cosby Show") as Olga, Reg E. Cathey ("The Wire") as Chebutykin, Amanda Mason Warren as Masha, Carmen Gill as Irina, Billy Eugene Jones (Raisin in the Sun, Passing Strange) as Andrey, Jonathan Earl Peck as Kulygin, Josh Tyson as Tuzenbach, Daphne Gaines as Nataliya Ivanovna, Phillip Christian as Solyony, Jonathan Ramey as Fedotik and Nathan Dame as Rodé.

Press notes for the CTH production read: "Three Sisters offers audiences a chance to consider the spiritual paralysis that keeps us from pursuing our dreams, the feeling of unlived lives and the longing for meaning. The result is an uncanny blend of the painful and trivial, the ordinary and the catastrophic. Conventional boundaries between comedy and tragedy are deliberately blurred, and things are seldom what they seem in one of the theatre's most enigmatic and beautiful explorations of our pursuit of happiness."

The design team includes Troy Hourie (set design), Kimberly Glennon (costume design) and Aaron Black (lighting design).

For tickets, priced $40, phone (212) 281-9240 or visit www.classicaltheatreofharlem.org.

The Harlem Stage Gatehouse Theatre is located at 150 Convent Avenue at West 135th Street in Harlem.
