Florida Stage in Manalapan, FL, will offer a staged reading of Lee Blessing's new work, Black Sheep, as part of the troupe's New Voices series, Jan. 8, 2001. The play is said to be a dark comedy about a prominent family's "black sheep" cousin, the product of an interracial marriage, who is released from prison. "Disturbing games of race, sex and cracked family values are played out in the most savage of all American venues: home," according to the announcement.

Blessing, the award-winning author of A Walk in the Woods, Eleemosynary and Cobb, will attend the reading, 7 PM Jan. 8. Tickets are $7.
