Conceived and directed by Tony Award nominee Brian Lane Green, Chanteur will take audiences on "a musical journey through both The Great American and The Great French Songbooks," according to press notes. Lessack told Playbill.com that the new show "traces the influence that the Great French Songbook has had on the Great American Songbook and its singers." Performances are currently scheduled for April 30 and May 1 at the Gardenia in Los Angeles; May 14-15 at Pizza on the Park in London; and May 17 at Le Sentier des Halles in Paris.
Lee Lessack has performed in cabarets and concert halls throughout the country. His recordings include the MAC and Bistro Award-winning "In Good Company" — a series of duets with Michael Feinstein, Ann Hampton Callaway, Maureen McGovern and Susan Egan, among others — as well as "Lee Lessack," "I Know You By Heart," "Too Marvelous for Words" and "An Enchanted Evening: the Music of Broadway." He is the founder of LML Music.
