Nominations for the 35th annual Daytime Emmy Awards were announced live on ABC's "The View" April 30. The awards, honoring excellence in television programming airing 2 AM-6 PM, will be presented at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood June 20. ABC will broadcast the awards live at 8 PM ET.
Legally Blonde: The Musical earned nominations for Outstanding Special Class Directing and Outstanding Special Class Special. The Oct. 13 broadcast and its subsequent airings were viewed by a total of 12.5 million viewers.
Avenue Q Tony nominee John Tartaglia — soon to be seen in the world premiere of Shrek The Musical — earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Performer in a Children's Series for "Johnny and the Sprites." The Disney Channel production was also acknowledged with nominations for Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction/Set Decoration/Scenic Design as well as Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing - Live Action and Animation and Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing - Live Action and Animation.
Nominees for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program include Christopher Lloyd for "Cyberchase" on PBS and two-time Tony nominee Eartha Kitt for "Disney's The Emperor's New School" on the Disney Channel.
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum veteran Whoopi Goldberg was nominated alongside her "View" co-hosts for Outstanding Talk Show Host.
