Classic Arts Features Leonard Slatkin Extends With Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Through 2014 Los Angeles-born conductor Leonard Slatkin has extended his association with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra as principal guest conductor for another three years.

His contract has been extended until the 2013-14 season. The orchestra, with Manfred Honeck as music director, has had Slatkin as principal guest conductor since 2008.

Slatkin is also music director of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, principal guest conductor of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the designated music director for the Orchestre National de Lyon, in France, beginning in the 2011-12 season.
