The Broadway production of Les Miserables is planning some sort of special event to celebrate its tenth anniversary on March 12, 1997, but organizers are playing information on the event very close to the vest.
The tenth anniversary of the original London production was marked by a special performance reuniting members of various casts of the show in a special concert presentation. The concert was taped and released on CD and video.
A representative of the American Les Miserables who declined to give his name said something special is being planned for March 12, but would not say what it was, or whether it would be on a scale comparable to that of the London bash.
Information on the Broadway anniversary event slipped out when Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS included a pair tickets to it as part of a package of Les Miz goodies up for auction Aug. 28.
The representative declined to say whether tickets to the event would be sold to the public. He said more information will be made public in late September.
