In a statement producer Bruce Robert Harris said, "We'll be looking forward to rolling out the pink carpet for Leslie and making an announcement here in New York before the end of summer." Exact performance dates and venue will be announced at a later date.

David Galligan was scheduled to direct the six-week limited engagement.

Pink Carpet, according to press notes, is described as "an outrageous tell-all that weaves together a hilarious collection of true life stories. . . [The show] tells the unlikely tale of one of America's true gay icons. . . Filled with comically overwrought childhood agonies, offbeat observations, and revealing celebrity encounters — from Boy George to George Clooney — My Trip Down The Pink Carpet delivers a laugh-out-loud take on Hollywood, fame, addiction, gay culture, and learning to love oneself."
