In his first TV talk show interview since winning the 2016 Tony Award as Best Actor in a Musical, Leslie Odom Jr., who plays Aaron Burr in the Broadway musical Hamilton, appeared on CBS This Morning to talk about how he learned to sing, what it was like to perform on the Tonys after the Orlando shootings, and about his ongoing contract negotiations to stay in Hamilton beyond July 9.
Odom released his first solo album June 10 on S-Curve Records, the self-titled Leslie Odom Jr., which includes show tunes and jazz classics, from Jerome Kern's ”Look for the Silver Lining” to Jule Styne's “The Party's Over.”
Odom's album also includes a new arrangement of “The Guilty Ones” from Duncan Sheik’s Spring Awakening, “Love Look Away” from Rodgers and Hammerstein's Flower Drum Song and “Joey Joey Joey” from Frank Loesser's The Most Happy Fella.
