Marcia L. Leslie's comedy-drama, The Trial of One Short-Sighted Black Woman Vs. Mammy Louise and Safreeta Mae, returns to the Henry Street Settlement's Harry De Jur Playhouse Oct. 31-Nov. 28.

Short-Sighted Black Woman, which began previews Oct. 27, takes a look at an African-American who views her race as a conglomeration of images culled from television, advertising and the movies. In this mock trial, Mammy Louise (a sort of Aunt Jemima) and Safeeta Mae fight against their images as humorous stereotypes of a time gone by.

Leslie's other work includes editing and staff-writing for CBS, NBC and Fox, with credits that include "The Cosby Show" and "Parenthood."

Returning with the production are Ebony Jo Ann (The Sunshine Boys, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom) and JoAnna Rhineheart with the addition of Obie-winner Barbara Montgomery (My Sister, My Sister), Carla Brothers (Sheila's Day), Petronia Paley (The First Breeze of Summer), Brenda Denmark and Peter J. Macon.

Designing Short-Sighted Black Woman are Felix Cochten (set), Kathy Perkins (lighting) and Vassie Welbeck Browne (costumes). Malik is the stage manager. Tickets are $25 and available by calling (212) 353-1176 or Ticket Central at (212) 279-4200. The Harry De Jur Playhouse is located at 466 Grand Street.
