News Letters of Grey Gardens' Little Edie Beale to Be Auctioned Letters and cards penned by Little Edie Beale, the East Hampton socialite whose life was captured in the documentary and subsequent musical Grey Gardens, will be auctioned June 26 and 27.

The letters to be auctioned were written to publicist Walter Newkirk, author of "memoraBEALEia, Letters of Little Edie Beale, The Secret Life of Walter Newkirk." The hand-written correspondence includes references to the sale of the Grey Gardens estate, Beale's act at Reno Sweeney's, horoscopes and the Grey Gardens musical.

The auction precedes an August production of Grey Gardens, starring Tony winner Betty Buckley and Rachel York, which will play Sag Harbor's Bay Street Theatre.
