News Lewis J. Stadlen and Chip Zien Will Be The Sunshine Boys at the Engeman Theater Casting has been announced for The John W. Engeman Theater's upcoming production of Neil Simon's The Sunshine Boys, which begins previews Feb. 2 prior to an official opening Feb. 4.

Directed by BT McNicholl, performances will continue through March 25.

The cast will feature Lewis J. Stadlen as Willie Clark, Chip Zien as Al Lewis, Frank Vlastnik as Ben Silverman, Gayle Samuels as the Nurse, Christina Calph as the Sketch Nurse, Evan Teich as Eddie and Scott Saperstein as the Patient.

"This laugh-out-loud comedy follows two faded vaudeville legends, Lewis and Clark, as they reunite to perform their old act one last time," according to production notes. "The only problem is they can't stand each other. Will these two crotchety comedians get over the issues that had ruined their partnership before the big show? This nostalgic comedy by Neil Simon is packed with the slapstick comedy sketches that embody the golden days of vaudeville."

The design team includes scenic designer Jonathan Collins, costume designer Tricia Barsamian, lighting designer Martin E. Vreeland, sound designer Craig Kaufman and hair and wig designer Mark Adam Rampmeyer.

The Sunshine Boys opened on Broadway on Dec. 20, 1972, at the Broadhurst Theatre with Sam Levene and Jack Albertson as Al Lewis and Willie Clark. A 1997 revival co-starred Jack Klugman and Tony Randall. Tickets may be purchased by calling (631) 261-2900, by visiting www.engemantheater.com, or at the Engeman Theater Box Office at 250 Main Street, Northport.
