The Universal action-adventure, which is set for a May 18, 2012, release, will also star Taylor Kitsch as Naval officer Hopper, who is assigned to the USS John Paul Jones; Brooklyn Decker as Shane's daughter, Sam; Alexander Skarsgard as Hopper's older brother, Commanding Officer Stone of the USS Samson; and pop star Rihanna as Hopper's crew mate, Lt. Raikes.
Neeson received Tony Award nominations for The Crucible and Anna Christie and also appeared on Broadway in The Judas Kiss. An Oscar nominee for "Schindler's List," his other screen credits include "Clash of the Titans," "The Chronicles of Narnia" films, "Batman Begins," "Kinsey," "Love Actually," "Les Miserables," "Michael Collins," "Nell," "Leap of Faith" and "Husbands and Wives," among others.
