NahNotOutsideMyHouse! Productions premieres Actor Found Dead at the John Houseman Theatre Too, Oct. 28. The new play by Charles Messina is based on the real-life tragedy involving James Hayden, who died of a heroin overdose while portraying a junkie in the 1983 Broadway production of American Buffalo.

Directed by the author, Actor Found Dead begins on Oct. 28 and opens Oct. 31 and runs through Nov. 14.

Actor James Hayden rose from the streets of Brooklyn to star on Broadway. Featured in the film "Once Upon A Time In America," Hayden's real breakthrough came with his role as the wayward drug addict in David Mamet’s American Buffalo. Unknown to even his friends, Hayden was struggling with a drug addiction he acquired in the Vietnam War.

Paul Goncalves (Hayden), Andrew I. Mones and David B. Martin comprise the cast, setting and costumes are by Fred Sorrentino. and the executive producer is Adrienne Delperico.

Continuing the life-imitates-art theme, NahNotOutsideMyHouse! Productions says its name was inspired by actor Robert De Niro’s response to the producers when they attempted to pitch a screenplay in front of DeNiro’s TriBeCa home. Actor Found Dead runs Oct. 31-Nov. 14, Thur.-Sat., at 8:00 PM. Performances take place at the John Houseman Studio Theatre Too, located at 450 West 42nd Street. Tickets are $12 and are available by calling (212) 252-6910.
