News Lifetime Producing Docuseries Set in High School A Cappella World Deadline reports that Lifetime will produce "Pitch Slapped," an eight-episode docuseries set in the world of high school a cappella competitions. The series will premiere Jan. 5, 2016.

The series, according to the online industry source, will focus on "two crosstown-rival New Jersey teams that get to work with the world’s best coaches and face off in weekly clashes, crescendo-building up to a champion sing-off. Vocal powerhouse Deke Sharon ('Pitch Perfect') and his team, Stay Tuned from Cherry Hill, will face off against The Voices from Allendale, led by performance coach Diana Preisler ('Blue Jupiter')."

All3Media America, Studio Lambert Associates and InsomniaTV, who conceptualized the project, will produce.

Stephen Lambert, Greg Goldman, Glenn Schubert, Eli Lehrer, Mary Donahue and Colleen Conway Grogan will executive produce.
