"Lighten Up" — Fox 5 Responds to Christopher Jackson's Reaction After Attending the "Circus" of "Good Day" | Playbill

News "Lighten Up" — Fox 5 Responds to Christopher Jackson's Reaction After Attending the "Circus" of "Good Day" A Fox 5 representative has responded to Christopher Jackson's reaction after being interviewed on WNYW-Fox 5's local morning show "Good Day New York" and feeling like he was part of a "circus." The rep advises Jackson to "lighten up."

As previously reported, hosts Greg Kelly and Rosanna Scotto (dressed Hamilton-style in period costumes and periwigs) asked Jackson about the show and what he's learned about playing the first President, although they admitted to not having seen Hamilton before the interview, and concluded with a rap.

Following the interview, Jackson sounded off on his personal Facebook page (Jackson's publicist gave Playbill.com permission to use his Facebook statuses).

"Yep folks....that's life in the damn circus.... ‪#‎notsurprised‬ ‪#‎speechless‬," he first posted.

A Fox 5 representative told the Post (and later confirmed to Playbill.com), "Our circus is No. 1. Lighten up."

Yesterday Jackson posted, "Can't remember a time where I found myself having to try so hard to NOT be embarrassed for someone as I was this morning. What some people fail to realize...when you try to take the piss at something you know NOTHING about, you risk making yourself look incredibly small, petty, and uniformed. I KNOW what I do. Will ALWAYS comport myself and act in an honorable way, especially when I'm talking about my art/work. I've never been a bafoon in MY work. Clowns"  Earlier in the day, however, Jackson was looking forward to being on the show, posting, "Getting ready to be on Fox5 Good Day New York to talk about HAMILTON! If you're in NYC, turn on Channel 5 and tune in! This should fun!" He added a link to Scotto's tweet welcoming him to the show and said, "This Morning keeps getting better and better!!! ‪#‎Hamilton‬ ‪#‎GDNY‬ https://t.co/64CzWX1QpY"
