White is the latest performer to join Brown for his ongoing residency at the downtown venue. Recent guests include Tony winner Gavin Creel, Tony nominee Jeremy Jordan, and Solea Pfeiffer. Brown’s residency takes place each month at SubCulture, always featuring a new Broadway guest.
A Tony winner for The Life and a nominee for Fela!, White is also one of Disney’s leading ladies as the voice of Calliope in the animated feature Hercules. She recently spoke to Playbill about singing Alan Menken’s gospel score and more.
