The Hamilton creator offers “A Forgotten Spot (Olvidado).”
Pulitzer Prize-winning Hamilton composer Lin-Manuel Miranda is utilizing his #HamilDrop series to mark the first anniversary of Hurricane Maria, which ravaged parts of Puerto Rico in September 2017.
Miranda posted on Twitter, “For the anniversary of Hurricane Maria, I cut a sample for @itsTROOKO.
Then we gave the mic to legendary artists:
Zion & Lennox, De La Ghetto, Ivy Queen, PJ Sin Suela & Lucecita Benitez.”
Listen to “A Forgotten Spot (Olvidado)” above. The #Hamildrop series offers new Hamilton-inspired content every month through December.
In the upcoming Puerto Rico premiere of Hamilton, Tony- and Pulitzer-winning creator Miranda will reprise his performance in the title role. As previously reported, the blockbuster musical will play San Juan’s Teatro UPR at the University of Puerto Rico (Río Piedras Campus) January 8 through January 27, 2019, before the company (sans Miranda) embarks on a third national tour. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.
The Tony-winning Hamilton continues on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre.
