The #Ham4Ham Show—the popular celebrity-packedpre-show that accompanied the early days of the Hamilton lottery on Broadway—will be revived for one day only in Los Angeles, where the Hamilton national tour began performances August 11.
The event, which promises special guests, will take place August 16 (when the L.A. engagement is set to officially open) outside the Hollywood Pantages Theatre. The official line-up for the lottery begins at 10 AM PT, with entries being collected from 12:30 PM to 1 PM. Tickets (up to two) located in the first two rows of the venue will be sold to winners at $10 each. Winners must be present and have a matching photo ID.
Miranda, the show’s Tony and Pulitzer winning creator, first took to Facebook (while on vacation) to share the news and discuss the recent launch of the official Hamilton app. Take a look at the video below.
Details about the event were revealed on the app, which is now available for iOS and Android phones. The app also serves as a hub for the Los Angeles engagement’s digital lottery; entries for the Broadway and Chicago productions will be accepted through the app in the coming weeks.
The #Ham4Ham show began as a lottery pre-show during the musical’s first weeks of performances at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway. What started as a way to give all lottery participants a show—even if they didn’t win tickets to the musical—became a celebrity-packed tradition, with special guests including Patti LuPone, Kelli O’Hara, Norm Lewis, and Matthew Morrison.
