Hamilton star and creator Lin-Manuel Miranda is helping launch a large-scale fundraiser for Yeshiva University, where, in 2009, he became the youngest-ever recipient of an honorary doctorate.

On September 20, “Charidy Day” (Day of Giving), YU is attempting to raise $5 million. Watch the fundraising video, narrated by Miranda, below:

Miranda is an honorary degree recipient of YU, located in New York’s Washington Heights. His parents are both leaders in the community, where he grew up, and have actively supported the University over the years. His mother is an assistant professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and Miranda has given several guest lectures at YU. For more information visit www.yu.edu.
