Lin-Manuel Miranda and his family partnered with People's Theatre Project a few years ago to update Payson Playground, around the corner from where the In The Heights and Hamilton creator grew up. Now, it’s a thriving space for young performers.

Miranda’s older sister and father, Luz and Luis, spoke to Alex Ficquette on The Today Show about how they took action after noticing the park had seen better days.

With the close friend and People’s Theatre Project Co-Founder Mino Lora, they cleaned up the playground to create an space for families to bring children and a spot to host PTP’s theatre summer camp.
