News Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton Understudy May Step In Weekly Javier Muñoz, who understudies lead actor Lin-Manuel Miranda in his Off-Broadway musical Hamilton, may be stepping in weekly at The Public Theater.

This morning, Miranda tweeted that Muñoz (who also understudied him in Broadway's In the Heights) will go on as Alexander Hamilton April 3 and April 8.

Miranda said, "He illuminates new shades, he teaches me… to that end, we're finding ways to put him on once a week. I'll always give you a heads up on here."

The production, featuring a book, music and lyrics by Miranda, will transfer to Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre this summer, officially opening Aug. 6.

Inspired by the book "Alexander Hamilton" by Ron Chernow, the musical incorporates historical figures such as George Washington, Aaron Burr, James Madison and Thomas Jefferson.
