Classic Arts News   Lincoln Center Announces Midsummer Night Swing Lineup

Lincoln Center's Midsummer Night Swing will run June 16-July 16, the center announced.

The 17-year-old series features live bands performing for dancers on an outdoor dance floor. Created as a showcase for swing, it has expanded to include salsa, Irish dancing, tango, and other styles.

Highlights include the Nelson Riddle Orchestra, conducted by the great arranger's son Christopher; bluesman Duke Robillard; salsa bandleader Johnny Pacheco; and a tribute to the late saxophonist and series fixture Illinois Jacquet, featuring trumpeter Clark Terry.

Each performance at Midsummer Night Swing is preceded by a 45-minute dance lesson. Vist www.lincolncenter.org for more information.
