Lincoln Center Inc. hosts its fall gala benefit this year on October 11 at Avery Fisher Hall, prior to the London Symphony Orchestra's performance there that evening of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony under conductor Bernard Haitink.

The concert is part of the LSO/Haitink complete Beethoven symphony cycle presented by Lincoln Center's Great Performers series in its "Voices and Visionaries" festival this fall.

At the gala dinner that evening, legendary mezzo-soprano Marilyn Horne will present the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts Distinguished Service Award to Sony Corporation and Howard Stringer, the company's Chairman and CEO. The honor is in recognition of Sony's many years of support of Lincoln Center's Corporate Fund, to which Sony has contributed for 30 years.
