News Linda Lavin, Dick Latessa and Original Cast of The Lyons Confirmed for Broadway Move The original Off-Broadway company of Nicky Silver's dark comedy The Lyons will make the leap to Broadway, producers announced on March 1. Performances begin April 5 prior to an April 23 opening at the Cort Theatre.

Reuniting following its fall 2011 world premiere by Vineyard Theatre will be Tony Award-winning stars Linda Lavin (Broadway Bound) and Dick Latessa (Hairspray), along with Michael Esper (Assistance) and Kate Jennings Grant (Proof) as their dysfunctional adult children; and Brenda Pressley as a nurse and Gregory Wooddell as a real estate agent. The Vineyard Theatre production of The Lyons will be presented on Broadway by producer Kathleen K. Johnson. Mark Brokaw (Cry-Baby, Reckless) again directs.

Here's how the play is billed: "The Lyons is a funny and edgy work starring Linda Lavin as Rita Lyons, the indomitable matriarch of a family at a major crossroads: her husband is dying, her son's in a dubious relationship, her daughter's struggling to stay sober and on top of it all, she can't settle on a new design for the living room."

The original design team for The Lyons returns: scenic design by Allen Moyer; lighting design by David Lander; costume design by Michael Krass; and original music and sound design by David Van Tieghem.

Tickets to The Lyons on Broadway range in price from $26.50-$126.50. Performances will play Tuesdays at 7 PM, Wednesdays at 2 PM and 8 PM, Thursdays and Fridays at 8 PM, Saturdays at 2 and 8 PM and Sundays at 3 PM.
