Mendez and Massey, who both starred in Wicked on Broadway, perfom songs from High Fidelity, Next to Normal, Songs for a New World and The Bridges of Madison County.
"Both of them [Kyle and Lindsay] were exactly the kind of performers I was looking to collaborate with when I started this residency," Jason Robert Brown told Playbill.com. "Sensational singers with serious acting chops who I hadn’t gotten to work with before!"
Composer, lyricist, conductor and director Brown (The Last Five Years, Bridges of Madison County, Honeymoon in Vegas) has taken up a year-long residency at Subculture, curating a concert series that runs from April through November. Each performance is set to incorporate a mix of music from throughout his career along with new works in development.
Scheduled concerts are April 20, May 15, June 8, July 6, Aug. 15, Sept. 11, Oct. 1 and Nov. 2. The Dec. 6, 2014, launch concert featured, for the first time on one stage, original cast members from every one of his New York productions, including Songs for A New World, The Bridges of Madison County and more.
