The one-night-only performance, which will benefit the Off-Broadway troupe's current 18th season, will play at The Lucille Lortel Theater. Shanley directs (and provides book and lyrics to) The Monkey Show, which features music by Krieger (Dreamgirls). The original work is billed as "a musical safari into the fevered hearts of apes in love!" The Pulitzer Prize-winning scribe previously provided LAB with the unique theatrical events Obsession and Love & Revenge.

Jackie Judd and Peter Picard will host with co-hosts Jeffrey A. Horwitz and Debbie Ohanian.

Shanley earned the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Play for Doubt, which he also adapted into a feature film. He has also penned the plays Dirty Story, Defiance, Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, Savage in Limbo and Where’s My Money? He also wrote the screenplays for "Live From Baghdad" (HBO), "Alive," "Joe Versus the Volcano" and the Academy Award-winning "Moonstruck."

Tickets to The Monkey Show (starting at $125) at The Lucille Lortel Theater, 121 Christopher Street, are available by calling (212) 513-1082 or online at LABtheater.org
