News Linney, Breen and Behanding Cast Learn Tony Eligibility Fate for 2009-10 The Tony Awards Administration Committee met April 8 for the third time this season to decide the eligibility of a handful of Broadway productions for the 2010 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards.

The shows discussed in the meeting were Time Stands Still, The Miracle Worker, A Behanding in Spokane, Next Fall, Looped and All About Me.

The following was determined:

  • Laura Linney will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play category for her performance in Time Stands Still.
  • Sam Rockwell, Anthony Mackie and Zoe Kazan will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by a Featured Actor/Actress in a Play categories respectively for their performances in A Behanding in Spokane.
  • Patrick Breen will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play category for his performance in Next Fall. All other decisions were consistent with the opening night credits, meaning the discussed shows are all eligible for Tony categories, even if those shows have closed.

    The Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and The American Theatre Wing. The Tony Awards Administration Committee will meet for the fourth and final time on April 30 to decide the eligibility for the 2010 Tony Awards. The Tony eligibility cutoff date for the 2009-10 season is April 29.
