The Magic of Disney on Broadway
Aug. 18: Playbill Radio takes you backstage in the hours leading up to a performance of Disney's The Lion King, and gets ready for a show with the cast and crew.

"The Magic of Disney on Broadway" debuts at 7 PM ET Monday, Aug. 18, with repeats scheduled for (all times ET) 2 PM Tuesday, Aug. 19; 11 PM Friday, Aug. 22; and 2 PM Saturday, Aug. 23.

Center Stage
Aug. 19: Special guests are producers Barbara Russell and Ron Sharpe, two former actors who have spent eight years preparing the new musical, A Tale of Two Cities, for its Broadway debut next month. They tell what it was like to make the big career change, and what it's like trying to survive as producers in tough economic times.

This week's "Center Stage" debuts at 7 PM ET Tuesday, with repeats scheduled for (all times ET) 2 AM Wednesday, Aug. 20; 11 PM Wednesday, Aug. 20; 2 PM Thursday, Aug. 21; 11 AM Saturday, Aug. 23; and 4 PM Sunday, Aug. 24. Edited versions of the "Center Stage" programs are available as podcasts.

Aug. 21: A tour through the career of songwriter Noel Coward, composer of "Mad Dogs and Englishmen," "Mad About the Boy," "Don't Let's Be Beastly to the Germans" and other distinctive songs.

Each week's "Composer Spotlight" show debuts at 7 PM (ET) Thursday, with repeats scheduled for (all times ET) 2 AM Friday, Aug. 22; 8 PM Sunday, Aug. 24; and 2 PM Monday, Aug. 25.

"Theater Talk" on Playbill Radio
Aug. 23: In honor of the recently deceased Simon Gray, we are airing our interview with the late playwright, taped in 2006 when he was in NYC for the Broadway revival of his best-known play Butley. The beloved and irascible Gray wrote 40 works for the stage including Otherwise Engaged and Quartermaine's Terms; he also created teleplays, screenplays and five novels.

Each week's "Theater Talk" show debuts at 7 PM (ET) Saturday, with repeats scheduled for (all times ET) 11 PM Monday, Aug. 25; and 2 PM Tuesday, Aug. 26.

This weekend's programming features South Pacific at 11 AM Saturday, Aug. 23 and 4 PM Sunday Aug. 24; John Leguizamo at 4 PM Saturday, Aug. 23 and 11 AM Sunday, Aug. 24; a Rodgers & Hart Tribute at 8 PM Sunday, Aug. 23 and 2 PM Monday, Aug. 24; and "Theater Talk" honoring Simon Gray at 7 PM Saturday, Aug. 23, 11 PM Monday, Aug. 25 and 2 PM Tuesday, Aug. 26.
