The issue will also feature an interview with D'Amour conducted by Polly Carl, the director of artistic development at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre who served as the dramaturg of Steppenwolf's world premiere production of Detroit in September 2010. The play is set to make its Broadway bow in the fall.

According to previous press notes, "In a 'first ring' suburb outside a mid-sized American city, Ben and Mary fire up the grill to welcome the new neighbors who've moved into the long-empty house next door. The fledgling friendship soon veers out of control — with unexpected consequences. Shining a light on the middle class American Dream, Detroit looks at what happens when we open ourselves up to something new."

D'Amour's work as a playwright, actress and interdisciplinary performance artist- has previously appeared at PS122, HERE Arts Center, Salvage Vanguard, Infernal Bridegroom Productions, the Walker ArtCenter, Crowded Fire Theater, Children's Theatre Company, Clubbed Thumb, HERE Arts Center, New Georges, Theatre of a Two Headed Calf, and the Women's Project. Detroit will mark her Broadway debut.

American Theatre publishes five complete play scripts every year in order to support new work by American playwrights. The magazine is published by Theatre Communications Group (TCG).
