Though the song did not make it into the final score of Hamilton, "This One's Mine" did not go to waste; Miranda wrote a new lyric and re-purposed the cut song's melody for "One School" in 21 Chump Street, a 2014 15-minute musical adaptation of an episode of radio show and podcast This American Life.
