News Little Dog Playwright Beane Will Chat at Dramatists Guild Douglas Carter Beane, who is currently represented on Broadway with the new comedy The Little Dog Laughed, will take part in the Dramatists Guild of America's Seminar Series.

Entitled A Conversation with Douglas Carter Beane, the Nov. 21 evening will be held at the Dramatists Guild's New York office in the Frederick Loewe Room. The free event, which is open to the public, is scheduled to begin at 5:30 PM. Beane will discuss his experiences as a playwright, his work as an artistic director for The Drama Dept. and his screenwriting efforts.

In addition to The Little Dog Laughed, Beane has also penned the plays Music From a Sparkling Planet, The Country Club, Advice From a Caterpillar, White Lies and Devil May Care as well as the screenplay for "To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar." A founding member and artistic director of the Drama Dept., he also recently wrote the live soap opera The Cartells. Beane is also a member of the Dramatists Guild.
