Now, Random House is hoping you'll want to read the book again, with the show-specific re-release of "Little Women," the beloved novel by Louisa May Alcott.

With a new introduction by Susan Cheever and a new cover showing the logo for the Broadway musical, the book appears on store shelves Nov. 23 from Random House's The Modern Library. The trade paperback will retail for $7.95.

According to Random House, "This Modern Library Paperback Classics edition includes newly written notes that offer more description and insight than those of previous editions."

The new Susan H. Schulman-directed Little Women musical begins performances at the Virginia Theatre Dec. 7 toward a Jan. 23, 2005, opening night.

Allan Knee adapted the 1868 coming-of-age novel, about four Massachusetts sisters under the care of their mother during Civil War times. Mindi Dickstein penned lyrics, Jason Howland the music.

Sutton Foster stars as Jo, with Maureen McGovern as Marmee.
