Classic Arts News Live From Lincoln Center Broadcasts James Galway Concert Star flutist James Galway appears in a live broadcast from Lincoln Center's Kaplan Penthouse tonight.
Galway is accompanied by the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, with appearances by pianist Phillip Moll and flutist Jeanne Galway, Galway's wife. The broadcast, part of the 28-year-old Live From Lincoln Center series, starts at 8 p.m. EST (check local listings). In New York, it can also be heard on WNYC radio. Beverly Sills hosts.

The program, selected by Galway, includes Bach, Saint-SaêŠns, Vaughan Williams. music from Howard Shore's score for The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King‹Galway performed on the soundtrack‹and Henry Mancini's "The Pink Panther" and "Baby Elephant Walk."

Born in Belfast, Galway played in the BBC Symphony, the London Symphony, and the Berlin Philharmonic before launching his solo career in 1975. He has recorded more than 50 albums, many of them bestsellers, and performs frequently with orchestras in Europe and the United States and on television.
