Featuring a book by Sybille Pearson and a score by David Shire and lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr., Baby premiered on Broadway in 1983. The 2 PM and 7:30 PM performances at the Scripps Research Institute Theatre will benefit Miracle Babies, a non-profit dedicated to providing education, support and financial assistance to families with newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit.

Callaway, who received a Tony nomination for originating the role of Lizzie and introduced the thrilling ballad "The Story Goes On," will return to that character in a cast that will also feature Richard Kind (The Producers, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) as Alan McNally, Ilene Graff ("Mr. Belvedere," Promises, Promises) as Arlene McNally, Douglas Sills (The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Addams Family) as Nick Sakarian, Kerry O'Malley (White Christmas, Into the Woods), as Pam Sakarian and Thomas C. Kouo (Flower Drum Song, Miss Saigon) as Danny Hooper.

Here's how the musical is billed: "Baby tells the story of three couples, each newly expecting a child, that have different but familiar reactions. Lizzie and Danny are university juniors who have just moved in together. Athletic Pam and her husband, Nick, a sports instructor, have had some trouble conceiving. Arlene, already the mother of three grown daughters, is unsure of what to do, contemplating abortion while her husband Alan is thrilled with the thought of a new baby. Throughout the show, these characters experience the emotional stresses and triumphs, the desperate lows and the comic highs, that accompany the anticipation and arrival of a baby."
