News Liza Minnelli Featured in New Karen Finley Work Make Love in NYC, July 13-Aug. 10 From the mind of the performer who brought Shut Up and Love Me and The Return of the Chocolate Smeared Woman to the stage comes a new work focusing on Liza Minnelli. Make Love will play July 13-Aug. 10 at New York City's Fez.

A "cabaret-driven, lounge-style act," Make Love will star performance artist Karen Finley opposite drag performer Chris Tanner, pianist Lance Cruce and a lineup of Liza impersonators — including Finley's nine-year-old daughter. Finley invites guests to come dressed as Liza — the show's focal point, who is emulated through song and dance. Finley acts as narrator for the evening of piano and torch singing.

Two-time Obie Award winner Finley has performed her works The American Chestnut, A Certain Level of Denial and The Return of the Chocolate Smeared Woman internationally. Other works to see the stage include The Distribution of Empathy and We Keep Our Victims Ready — the infamous show which caused the NEA to revoke its grant to Finley.

Make Love plays at the Fez, under the Time Cafe, 380 Lafayette Street (at Great Jones Street). For tickets, call (212) 533-2680.
