Entitled Jump for Joy A Dance Variety Spectacular, the event is scheduled for Nov. 5 at 7 PM at New York City Center. The performance will be followed by a supper at The Grand Ballroom at The Hilton New York.
The evening will also feature the presentation of the Rolex Dance Award to Liza Minnelli.
“We are pleased to present this year’s Rolex Dance Award to Liza Minnelli, world renowned American singer, dancer, and film, television and theatre actress. We salute her dedication to the arts and unwavering support of Career Transition For Dancers,” said Stewart Wicht, president and CEO of Rolex Watch USA, in a statement.
Minnelli added, "I fell in love with dancing when I saw my first Broadway show. It was at that moment that I knew what I wanted to do. All of my dreams have come true because dancing has touched my heart. I am so honored and delighted to accept the 2012 Rolex Dance Award and share it with all of the Broadway gypsies who have the same dream…Thank You.”
