Liza Minnelli's 1979 concert engagement at Carnegie Hall, where the Oscar winner sold out 11 shows, is the blueprint for Liza ’79, an immersive theatrical experience performed by Larry Owens and created and directed by Ben Rimalower (Patti Issues, Leslie Kritzer Is Patti LuPone at Les Mouches).

Performances are scheduled at Joe's Pub for June 11, 17, 18, 24, and July 2 at 9:30 PM.

Owens will bring his style to the songs, dances, and the between-song banter of Minnelli’s concerts. Owens will not be “playing” Liza; this is neither drag nor impression. In 2016, he presented a similar show, singing the songbook of Bernadette Peters.

Liza ’79 will feature music direction and arrangements by Matt Aument and choreography by Jason Wise.

Zach Laks, Sarah Galli, and Joseph Lucius in association with Form Theatricals produce.
