A new compilation of Andrew Lloyd Webber songs titled "Andrew Lloyd Webber Gold: The Definitive Hits Collection" is now available in music stores on the Decca Broadway/UTV Records label.

Featuring songs from Lloyd Webber's first theatrical success, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, through his 1998 production Whistle Down the Wind, "Gold" features 18 Lloyd Webber tunes sung by some of the most successful theatre artists as well as a few non-theatre performers.

Some of the artists appearing on "Gold" include Betty Buckley, who delivers her signature tune, "Memory"; Patti LuPone, who offers her Tony-winning anthem, "Don't Cry for Me Argentina"; Barbra Streisand, who performs the Sunset Boulevard show-stopper, "As If We Never Said Goodbye"; Michael Crawford, who offers the best-known Phantom of the Opera tune, "Music of the Night"; and Glenn Close and Alan Campbell, who duet on "The Perfect Year." Other performers include Murray Head, Sarah Brightman, Madonna, Donny Osmond, Charlotte Church, Yvonne Elliman, Michael Ball, Cliff Richard, Tom Jones, Mandy Patinkin, José Carreras and the pop group Boyzone.

Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber is currently represented on Broadway with his Tony-winning musical The Phantom of the Opera. The London production of his Cats recently closed after a record-breaking 20 years in the West End. His other hit musicals include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Song & Dance, Sunset Boulevard, Whistle Down the Wind and The Beautiful Game.
