News London Actor Paul Bhattacharjee Sought After Disappearing During Rehearsals for Royal Court Season London stage and screen actor Paul Bhattacharjee, who was part of the current Open Court season of weekly rep plays at the Royal Court, has disappeared after rehearsals for the third one he was due to appear in.

According to a police report, the 53-year-old actor was last seen at 6:18 PM that day as he left the Royal Court, walking in the direction of Sloane Square tube station. He texted his girlfriend three hours later “and that was the last anyone has heard of him."

He is described as being six feet tall, of slim build with short grey hair, brown eyes and a fair complexion. He was wearing light colored trousers, a blue shirt and light colored shoes when he went missing and was carrying a backpack. He lives in the Redbridge area and sometimes goes by the name Gautam Paul Bhattacharjee.

Bhattacharjee had already appeared in the Royal Court's The President Has Come to See You and Pigeons as part of the season, and was due to appear in this week's production of Talk Show, which has been re-cast.

According to a spokesperson for the Royal Court, "He was in rehearsals in the afternoon and he was in good spirits. He is a brilliant actor and has been brilliant in the plays."

As well as appearing at the Royal Court, he had also appeared regularly with the RSC (including the all-Asian Much Ado About Nothing staged last year that played a season at the West End's Noel Coward Theatre), Almeida and the Young Vic.
