News   London's Kings Head to Host Schwartz Stories Musical Revue

North London's King's Head Theatre will host a musical revue showcasing compositions by Broadway composer-lyricist Stephen Schwartz.

Schwartz Stories is scheduled to start previews Nov. 7 and officially open Nov. 10. Narrated by Paul Nicholas, the show sets the Academy and Grammy-winning composer’s songs (including four from his hit musical Wicked) to stories about the relationships of three couples.

The cast features Paul Baker (Taboo, The Lion King), Alex Beuselinick (The King and I), John Cusworth (Grease, Blood Brothers), Carys Gray (Rent) and Annalisa Rossi (Mary Poppins, Mamma Mia).

The book for the revue is written by actors Mark Powell (currently appearing in the London revival of Evita) and Cusworth.

As well as music and lyrics from Wicked, which opened at London’s Victoria Apollo Sept. 27, Powell and Cusworth's revue features compositions from Pippin, The Baker’s Wife, Children of Eden and Godspell.

Directed by Joe Walsh with musical direction by Simon Sharp, Schwartz Stories is booking until Dec. 3. For more on Schwartz Stories, call (0)7226 1916.
