Mamma Mia!, the smash-hit musical at the Prince Edward Theatre based on the songs of ABBA, will be the only West End show to take part in the Queen's Jubilee Celebrations at Buckingham Palace on Monday, June 3. The excerpts from the show that will be performed by the cast are "Money, Money, Money," "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!," "I Have A Dream," "Mamma Mia" and "Dancing Queen." This performance forms part of the pre-concert entertainment at the Party at the Palace.

There are now six productions of Mamma Mia! playing around the world, and the Broadway production has just received five Tony nominations in New York including Best Musical; the Tony Awards will take place the day before the Buckingham Palace Jubilee Concert, on Sunday, June 2. The Australian production of Mamma Mia! has just won five Green Room Awards, Melbourne's highest theatre honors, and the Helpmann Award for Best Musical.

Mamma Mia! recently celebrated its third London birthday, and since it opened on April 6, 1999, the show has broken all box-office records at the Prince Edward Theatre. It has grossed over £60 million and sold 2 million tickets; since opening, not a single seat has gone unsold. In North America, Mamma Mia! is the number one grossing show.

Mamma Mia! has music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus. This original musical, which is a story of a mother and daughter set on the eve of the daughter's wedding, has a book by Catherine Johnson and is directed by Phyllida Lloyd.
