Motown the Musical, which continues at London's Shaftesbury Theatre, will welcome two new cast members in September.

On September 4, David Albury, who is currently appearing in Committee… (A New Musical), and Kayi Ushe, whose London credits include The Book of Mormon and Avenue Q, will join the company as Smokey Robinson and Marvin Gaye, respectively.

The two actors will perform alongside Cedric Neal as Berry Gordy and Lucy St. Louis as Diana Ross with ensemble members KM Drew Boateng, Ryan Carter, Samuel Edwards, Vanessa Fisher, Dujonna Gift-Simms, Simon Ray Harvey, Terique Jarrett, Cameron Bernard Jones, Cleopatra Joseph, Wilson Kiiru, Natasha Leaver, Kieran McGinn, Simone Mistry-Palmer, Samuel Nicholas, Brianna Ogunbawo, Matt Overfield, Jay Perry, Timothy Quinlan, Sharon Rose, Lawrence Rowe, Ashley Samuels,Brandon Lee Sears, Carl Spencer, Alex Thomas-Smith, Cherelle Williams , Richard Taylor Woods, Michael Woolston-Thomas, and Jayme-Lee Zanoncelli. Nana Ageyman-Bediako, Raphael Higgins-Humes, Rio Myers, and Tumo Reetsang share the roles of Young Michael Jackson, Berry Gordy, and Stevie Wonder.

In related news, the musical has just released 500,000 new tickets for sale, taking bookings for the hit West End production into 2019 when the show will celebrate its third year in London; tickets are now on sale through January 5, 2019.

With music and lyrics from the Motown catalog and book by Motown founder Berry Gordy, the production features a 16-piece orchestra playing 50 Motown track. Charles Randolph-Wright’s production tells the story behind the classic hits.
