Kevin Spacey’s Old Vic Theatre will host a gala performance of a new one-woman play inspired by the Burmese pro-democracy dissident and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Aung San Suu Kyi.

Written and directed by Richard Shannon, and starring Liana Gould, Lady of Burma will receive its first staging Nov. 12. The performance, which will be hosted by actor Maureen Lipman, is organized by the Burma Campaign UK, part of an international movement promoting democracy in Burma.

Other contributors to the evening include actors Juliet Stevenson, Sinead Cusack, Richard Wilson and Prunella Scales. Archbishop Desmond Tutu has written a message for Suu Kyi, who has been under house arrest for almost 11 years.
